Despite Barnes and Noble ebook sales volume has declined over the years, Nook is still the one that offers the less expensive ebook around the market. After purchasing the ebooks from Nook, here comes to the question: how can I download Nook Books to the computer?
Barnes and Noble has discontinued the options to download Nook ebooks to a computer for backup from their website. About one year ago, there were about 3 methods to download Nook books to your computer (on Windows platform): Nook for PC, Nook study and Nook app.
How To Download Nook For Mac

If you have an Apple iOS or an Android device, there's no need to transfer Nook e-books to another app. You can download the Nook app to your device from the Apple App Store or Google Play. After you install the Nook reading app, log in with your Barnes & Noble account and download your e-books to the app.
Both Kobo and Nook e-books use Adobe for their DRM. So you can download Adobe Digital Editions to your computer, authorize your Nook or Kobo with the app, and then transfer books from one device to another.

The NOOK GlowLight Plus natively supports EPUBs and PDFs. This means you don't need to transfer ebooks through Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) onto your ereader. While you don't need ADE to transfer, you do need ADE to download the ebooks onto your computer before you transfer them.

The NOOK fully supports download from other file formats. You can transfer files from your computer to the NOOK via a USB cable connection. You can also load many other files, including MP3s, as well as ePub, PDB and PDF files.
MAC USERS: If this is the first time you have connected your NOOK HD or NOOK HD+ to your Mac, you will see a NOOK drive on your desktop or in Finder. Open NOOK and double-click MyNOOK Setup. You are warned that this is a web application. Click Open, which downloads the MyNookSetup.dmg.zip file. Unzip the file and double-click the resulting file: MyNookSetup.dmg. A window appears. Double-click the MyNook Setup.mpkg file, which starts the Install MyNOOK Setup wizard. Click Continue. Review the Software License Agreement and click Continue. Click Agree. Click Install. Once the installation is complete, click Close. This one-time installation allows you to access the NOOK HD or NOOK HD+ to add files.

Notice for NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet owners: As of March 15, 2016, Barnes & Noble no longer supporting these older NOOK tablets and the B&N app store was closed. This means NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet owners will no longer be able to download or update the OverDrive or Cloud Library apps. Consequently, these devices must be used the same way you would use an eReader with Cloud Library or OverDrive. Titles must be downloaded to a computer first then transferred to the NOOK using the needed software or application for Windows or Mac computers.
Select an eBook database to search using the "eBook Databases" tab of this guide, or use the library's catalog to find an eBook that you would like to download. You will be prompted to enter your MyNOVA username and password before viewing the eBook.
Once you have located an eBook that you would like to download, select either "PDF Full-Text" or "EPUB Full-Text" depending on what is available. Once the eBook is opened within your browser, select "Full Download" at the top right of the interface.
If the eBook you have selected allows DRM Free downloads, the "Download eBook" box that appears will look like what is pictured below. Select "PDF" as the download format and click "Full Download". The PDF will begin downloading and you can view it offline with no restrictions.
If the eBook only allows DRM downloads, you may be prompted to log in to the database's website. For example, to download eBooks from EBSCO, you will need to create a free EBSCO account. You will only need to provide an e-mail address and password. Log in or create an account to proceed. If you are not prompted to log in, skip this step.
Additionally, to download DRM eBooks you must have the application Adobe Digital Editions installed on your computer. If you have not done so already, download Adobe Digital Editions. You will need to choose your operating system. For a PC, choose Windows (8.24 MB). For a Mac, choose Macintosh (22 MB).
Once you have installed Adobe Digital Editions and logged in to the database website, click on the "Full Download" button on the eBook again and you will be prompted to select the number of days you wish to borrow the eBook for (maximum of 21 days), the download format (select "PDF"), and check the "I have Adobe Digital Editions or equivalent installed" box. Once that is done, click "Full Download".
Once downloaded, the eBook will be available for viewing within your Adobe Digital Editions Bookshelves under All Items or Borrowed. Select the book and click Read or double click on the book to open it.
Google has released an official USB driver that should be able to have your PC recognize the Nook Glowlight Plus. Once you download the zip file you need to UNZIP it. If you are running Windows 10 or another modern OS, you should be able to extract the files without downloading any other software.
If you are running Windows 7 or 8.1 and do not have a default program that will extract files you can download WINZIP or WINRAR. Both of these apps are trials, but it will allow you to simply extract the USB file without having to pay any money. If you already use the software program Adobe Digital Editions to download eBooks from OverDrive or another service, 3M Cloud Library should automatically detect and use the same Adobe ID you used to authenticate that program.
Adobe Digital Editions allows you to transfer items from your library to your Nook. You will need to download the file to your computer, using Adobe Digital Editions, and then connect your Nook to the computer, and launch Digital Editions to begin the transfer of the file to your device.
4.Once you have fully installed Adobe Digital Editions, switch back to Edelweiss, and click the Continue button on the Edelweiss box. Click OK for the file to be downloaded.
5. Adobe Digital Editions will open, and you can manage your downloaded review copies from there (and even read them if you want). It will act as the conduit to your ebook reader. From now on, you will just need to click on Download Digital ARC on a title (when available) in Edelweiss, and the file will automatically be downloaded to and opened in the Adobe Digital Editions reader.

Your NOOK GlowLight Plus will appear on your PC as a removable drive. 3. On your computer, find the EPUB title you downloaded. If the eBooks you downloaded automatically open in Adobe Digital Editions, they will usually be located in the folder My Digital Editions under Documents. Tip: From your Adobe Digital Edition Library, right-click a book cover and click on Show File in Explorer (Windows) or Show File in Finder (Mac). 4.
